A brief search of Hartford City Directories from the mid 1940s did not have Deford Dechert listed as a photographic firm. A Burton Dechert, living at 78 Forest Street in Hartford, was listed as being a photographer for a time, but there was no individual with the first name of Deford listed, or a photographer by the name Deford working during the years searched. A further search of directories spanning more years could be done for this business. Some photographs marked Deford Dechert are marked as West Hartford. The business may have moved, which would account for the abscence from the Hartford directories.
