Julius GilmanAmerican, 1799 - 1886
Julius Gilman was born in 1799, the son of Chloe Bemont Gilman and Oliver Gilman of East Hartford, Connecticut. He married Eliza Shepard (1800-1884) in 1824; they had at least two children, George Shepard Gilman (1825-1886) and Mary Webster Gilman Knight (1846-1911). Julius Gilman was a publisher and bookbinder in Hartford, Connecticut. He was later involved with farming and real estate.
