BiographyMartha A. Moore was born 8 February 1824 in New Hartford, Connecticut. She was the daughter of Pericles (Perry) Moore (b. 1791) and Lovisa Seymour Moore (1794-1872). According to the 1840 census, the family lived in Berlin, Connecticut.
Martha Moore married John Scott Baker (1824-1894) of New Hartford on 4 January 1846. The ceremony was performed by Reverend Samuel Rockwell of New Britain. They had at least one daughter, Eliza Baker Holcomb. The Baker family was listed as living in New Hartford in the censuses of 1850-1880. Martha Baker Moore died 17 November 1911.
