BiographyDr. Samuel Mather was the oldest son of Hannah Treat Mather and Reverend Samuel Mather (1650-1728). He was the grandson of Robert Treat, Deputy-Governor of Connecticut from 1675-1683. He married Abigail Grant in 1704; they had at least one son, Nathaniel (b. 1716).
