BiographySamuel Austin Talcott was the son of Abigail Ledyard and Samuel Talcott, Jr., (1739/40-1798). He was the great grandson of Governor Joseph Talcott (1669-1741) of Connecticut. Samuel Austin Talcott married at least twice. In 1818, he married his second wife, Mary Eliza Grosvenor (d. 1848). They had at least one son, Thomas Grosvenor Talcott (1819-1870).
