Titus Hosmer

American, 1737 - 1780
BiographyTitus Hosmer was born in 1737, the son of Deliverance Graves Hosmer and Captain Stephen Hosmer (d. 1758) of West Hartford, Connecticut. He married Lydia Lord (d. 1798) on 29 or 30 November 1761, and they had seven children.

Titus Hosmer graduated from Yale. He studied law, and in 1778, he was a member of the Continental Congress. He served as Representative to the General Assembly from May 1778 until his death. In January 1780, Titus Hosmer was elected one of three judges on the Court of Appeals; his death on 4 August 1780 prevented him from taking office.
