BiographySarah Lawrence was born in 1784 in Hartford, Connecticut. Her parents were Alice Adams Ripley Lawrence (1757-1845) and William Lawrence (1751-1821). She had a sister, Alicia (Mrs. Charles Sheldon), and two brothers, William Henry (1789-1792) and Roderick (b.1792). Sarah Lawrence never married. She died on 11 December 1866.
