BiographyAntonina "Ann" P. Uccello was raised in Hartford, Connecticut. She graduated from Weaver High School and St. Joseph's College, and she did graduate work at Trinity College and the University of Connecticut Law School. She taught high school for one year and worked in management at G. Fox and Company, then was asked to run for Mayor of Hartford in 1967. A Republican, Ann Uccello became the first female mayor of Hartford.
