Dr. Cyrus Pendleton

American, 1830 - 1919
BiographyDr. Cyrus H. Pendleton (5 Oct. 1830 - 6 April 1919) lived in Hebron, Connecticut. He married Mary (Maria) Wells Pendleton (9 July 1837 - 22 Dec. 1922) on 9 July 1866 in Hebron, Connecticut. They are both buried in St. Peter's Cemetery in Hebron. They had five children: Clarissa, Anne, Susie, Grace, and Cyrus E. Pendleton. Dr. Cyrus Pendleton was the only doctor in Hebron for almost 50 years. He served as Town Clerk, Selectman, Judge of Probate, District Health Officer, and was a member of the Committee of Education and the Hebron Literary Association. The Pendleton family lived in a Federal style home at 13 Church St., Hebron, Conn., which was called Pendletonia.

He received his Associate Bachelor's degree from Amherst in 1856 and his M.D. degree from the Cleveland Medical College in 1860.
