BiographyElias Smith was born in Milford, Connecticut, on 17 May 1776. He married Elizabeth Oviat Treat, the widow of Edmund Treat, on 31 May 1804. They had at least one son, Elias Smith (1804-1882). Elias Smith (Sr.) died in Milford, Connecticut, on 8 April 1843.
