BiographyGeorge M. Cole of Hartford, Connecticut, was captain of the 3rd Infantry of the Connecticut National Guard, a lieutenant colonel in the United States Army during the Spanish American War (1846-1848), and a brigadier general in the Mexican Border Uprising of 1912. He served as Adjutant General of the Connecticut National Guard from about 1909 to 1928. He had a daughter, Clara M. B. Cole. When George M. Cole retired from the military, he held the rank of major general. He died in 1933.
