Joseph A. Vitkus

Joseph A. Vitkus of Hartford, Connecticut, was born 27 January 1917. He served in the 465th Field Artillery Battalion of the United States Army during World War II. He entered service on 13 March 1943 and was discharged 8 January 1946. Joseph A. Vitkus served in New Guinea and the Philippines, and he was awarded the Bronze Star for his service in Leyte Province, Philippine Islands from 22 October to 20 December 1944. He died in Connecticut in 2003.
