Hamilton Washington Conklin

Hamilton Washington Conklin (7 March 1835 - 30 June 1905) was born in Madison, Conn. to Richard Christopher Conklin (1793-1841) and Almira Perry Cowell Conklin (1796 - 1883). He married Angeline Eliza Shepard Conklin (1837-1919) on 15 July 1857. Angeline was the daughter of Henry and Eliza Shepard. H. W. Conklin and Angeline had two children: Harry Shepard Conklin (1864-1940) and Charles Waite Conklin (1871-1923). He was the grandfather of William Conklin.

He went into the real estate business in 1885. He was a member of the Veteran City Guard and the Knights Templar. He joined the Washington Commandery of the Knights Templar on 18 April 1862. He is buried in Cedar Hill Cemetery in Hartford.
