Robert Nisbet

BiographyRobert Nisbet was born in Providence, Rhode Island on 25 August 1879. He studied at the Rhode Island School of Design and the Art Students League in New York City. He was active as a painter and etcher, primarily of landscapes. Early in the twentieth century, he began spending summers at Old Lyme, Connecticut and he eventually established a home and studio in Kent, Connecticut. Many of his prints depict the landscape of northwestern Connecticut. Nisbet died on 19 April 1961.
