BiographyGeorge Shepard Gilman was the son of Eliza Shepard Gilman (1800-1884) and Julius Gilman (1799-1886). He graduated from Trinity College in 1847. George Shepard Gilman married Ellen M. Hills (1841-1919). They had two children: George Hills Gilman (1866-1928); and Julia Ellen Gilman Clark (1873-1963).
