BiographyJosephine Toy Collins was born 5 July 1909. She was the daughter of Josephine Seymour Toy Collins (1884-1909) and Frederick Starr Collins, and the half sister of Atwood Collins II. She was descended from Richard Lyman, one of the founders of Hartford. Josephine T. Collins graduated from Miss Porter's in Farmington, Connecticut, and also attended the Boston School of Art. She was an artist, and lived most of her life in Cheshire and Stonington, Connecticut.
Josephine Toy Collins married Bradford Sargent Tilney (1908-1999); their son, Timothy Collins Tilney, was born 29 January 1943. She died in Bloomfield, Connecticut, on 12 January 2002 at age 96.
