Nancy Dunham

American, 1792 - 1860
BiographyNancy Dunham was the daughter of Eleazer Dunham and Lois Isham of Colchester, who were married 24 November 1784. Nancy was one of their eight children, born 13 March 1792. Eleazer Dunham was a farmer, occasional schoolteacher, and member of the militia. In about 1800 the family moved to Middletown where Eleazer opened a meat market and shipped oxen to the West Indies. Nancy married sea Captain John Loveland (1785-1857) of Middletown, the widow of her sister Phila Dunham, on 2 January 1820. Nancy Dunham died 23 October 1860. John Loveland was a sea captain in the trade with the West Indies.
