BiographyMaude Jeannette Purvis was trained at the Royal Conservatory of Music, Toronto. She was a lyric soprano. She married Dr. J. Grant Irving (1907-1972). Her husband was a neurosurgeon, and he worked for the Aetna Life and Casualty insurance companies, becoming Chief Medical Director in 1960. Maude and J. Grant Irving had two sons, J. Bruce Irving and Robert Grant Irving.
