American, 1779 - 1860
BiographyDaniel Buck of Wethersfield, Connecticut, was born in 1779. He was a prosperous merchant in Hartford, Connecticut. On 14 October 1805, Daniel Buck married Julia Mitchell, who died two years later. About the time of his first marriage, Daniel Buck acquired a large house on Grove Street in Hartford, built by Silas and Barnabas Deane. After his first wife's death, Daniel Buck married Elizabeth Belden (1783-1887) in 1812. He died in Poquonock, Connecticut in 1860, and his widow returned to live with her sister, Mary Porter Belden Cooke, also a widow, in the Cooke house in Wethersfield, Connecticut.
