Alfred Newton Miner and Emma LeMay Miner lived on a farm in South Windsor, Connecticut in the late 1800s and early 1900s. Alfred Miner was a descendent of Lt. Thomas Minor, who came to New London, Connecticut, from Massachusetts after the Pequot Indian War, and who was killed at the Battle of Fort Griswold on 6 September 1781. There were six children in the family, born between 1881 and 1902. The youngest child was Dorothea Emily Miner Hallett (1902-1962).
