BiographySamuel Burr was baptised on 20 January 1744/5, the son of thomas and Sarah King Burr. On either 17 June 1773 or 22 June 1773, He married Rebecca Stillman of Wethersfield, Connecticut who died in 1831 at age 84. They had five children. Samuel Burr was a merchant in Hartford, Connecticut and owned and kept the largest store in Hartford on what was then called Burr Street, now North Main Street. He resided on the corner of the present North Main and Trumbull Streets, the lot extending from North Main Street to Chapel Street. Samuel Burr died in Hartford, Connecticut of a fit in 1792, at the age of 47.
