John Bennett

BiographyJohn Bennett was born in 1762. He was the proprieter of Bennett's Hotel in Hartford, later known as the City Hotel. He married Mary King (1766-1835), daughter of Titus King of Northhampton, and they has seven children: Elizabeth, James (1802-1837); Martha (1805-1837); Mary Ann; Susannah (1797-1882); and John Bennet, Jr. He spent the last years of his life at the home of his daughter, S. B. Welles. John Bennett died on 5 December 1843.
