BiographyGeorge Wells Bartholomew, Jr. was the son of George Wells Bartholomew and Angelina Ives Bartholomew. His parents had at least eight children, and three daughters are said to have died of typhoid fever. His siblings were: Harriet Ives (1830-1837); Harry Shelton (b. 1832); Frances Parthenia (1834-1839); Mary Elizabeth (1836-1839); and Jane Estelle (b. 1840).
