Faith Williams

American, 1775 - 1838
BiographyFaith Williams was the daughter of the Hon. William Williams (a signer of the Declaration of Independence) and Faith Trumbull (daughter of the Gov. Jonathan Trumbull). She married Major John McClellan Sr., a Major of Militia in the Revolution. He graduated from Yale in 1785, and became a Justice of the Peace in Woodstock, was selectman, and a member of the Legislature for twenty years. Faith had six children: Mary Trumbull McClellan (1800-1836); Faith Williams McClellan (1804-1892); Sarah Isabella McClellan (1806-1875); Jane Calhoun McClellan (1809- ?); John McClellan Jr. (1812-1905); and Joseph McClellan (1814-1905).
