Caroline Julia TuckerAmerican, 1832 - 1897

Caroline Julia Tucker (ca 1832 - 1897) was possibly born in Hartford the daughter of Jesse Tucker and Caroline Julia Johnson. Sometime between 1860 and 1870, she married, probably as a second wife, Brainard B. Dunham (1809 - 1890). She died in Hartford, on 31 May 1897.

Brainard B. Dunham was a good twenty years older than Caroline, and the marriage probably did not last. Brainard is listed in the 1860 census in the household of George W. Johnson of South Windsor. George was Caroline Julia Tucker's uncle and the husband of Theodocia Dunham, more than likely Brainard's sister.

Caroline Julia, the needleworker can be found in her parent's household in

the 1850 through 1880 Hartford censuses, appearing only once as Caroline J. Dunham (1870). She does not appear in the Hartford City Directory until 1893, where

she is listed as Caroline J. Dunham, widow of Brainard B.
