Columbia Anne Botticello

Columbia Anne Botticello was the daughter of Mary Cardillicchio and Henry Botticello. She grew up in Hartford and Manchester, Connecticut, in a large Italian American family. Her family lived at 16 Kennedy Street in Hartford, at least when she was in junior high school; when she was 18 years old, her address was 54 Russell Street in Manchester. She took dance lessons in Hartford and was a student at Henry Barnard Junior High School.

She became an author. Her first book, Return of Another Spring, was about a young dancer in New York. She also wrote a book about her own life and her experiences with her family, titled, Mama and the Ten of Us. Her siblings were: Paul Botticello, Louis Botticello, Daniel Botticello, Harry Botticello, Concetta Botticello Hildebrand, Isabel Botticello Gionfriddo, Celia Botticello Barniak, and Carmelia (Millie) Botticello Gionfriddo.

She was a ballet dancer in the Metropolitan Opera. She taught dancing at the Columbia Botticello School of Dance in Hartford and Manchester. She marched for the Women's Equal Rights Amendment with a Hartford group representing Connecticut in the Washington D.C. Women's March in 1978.

She died on June 28, 2021.
