Elizabeth Gay Sisson

BiographyElizabeth Gay Sisson was born on 1 February 1860 in West Hartford, Connecticut, the daughter of a farmer named Joseph C. Sisson and Elizabeth Gay Wells. On 6 December 1880, she married George Watson Hubbard (1841-1893), an assistant secretry of the Aetna Life Insurance Company in Hartford; when she was twenty (and he was thirty-nine). They had three daughters: Helen, Elizabeth, and Margery. Elizabeth Sisson Hubbard died on 28 March 1897 of pneumonia at her winter home at 456 Main Street, Hartford. She was 37.
