BiographySeymour Gavens was born on 16 April 1930 in Hartford, Connecticut. He was the son of Mary and Jack Gavensky. He graduated from Weaver High School in 1947 and from the University of Connecticut in 1951 with a degree in Accounting. Seymour served four years in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War.
In January 1952, Seymour married Annette Rosker (1931-2023). They had three children: Andrew, Lee, and Michelle Gavens.
He was a founding partner of the accounting firm, BlumShapiro.
Seymour and Annette were longtime sports fans supporting Connecticut's professional and college teams.
He died on 4 February 2020.
