David Henry Geer

David Henry Geer was born on 20 June 1844. He was the son of Silas Geer (b. 1812) and Lyda Beckwith (b. 1819). He had three siblings: Betsey Eliza Geer (b. 1838), Emma Melissa Geer (1840-1860), and Alba Silas Geer (b. 1856).

He married Jennie A. Peabody on 10 May 1868.

He enlisted in February 1862 in Co. I, 13th Connecticut Volunteer Infantry to serve in the Civil War. He was wounded at the Battle of Winchester in September 1864 and discharged on 25 Feburary 1865.
