Katherine Goodwin Parker

BiographyKatherine Parker was born in Hartford, Connecticut on 24 July 1890, the daughter of John Dwight and Caroline Goodwin Parker. A graduate of the Hartford Public High School, class of 1909, she majored in piano and composed a march for her alma mater. She married George W. Cheney in Hartford on 26 June 1916; they had a son, George W. Cheney, Jr.
As the oldest member of the Musical Club of Hartford, she was honored in January, 1966, at the Hartford Conservatory's 75th anniversary dinner, being the conservatory's oldest living graduate. She was a member of the Hartford Club, the Manchester Garden Club, the Manchester Historical Society, and was a charter member of the Junior League of Hartford.
