James Elwood Howland

BiographyJames Elwood Howland was born on 19 May 1852 in New York. He was the son of Abraham Woolley “Abram” Howland (1825-1908) and Catherine Gaunt (1828-1909). He had at least two siblings: Mary Frances Howland and Eugena Howland.
He married Mary Louise Jacobs (1855-1929). They had at least three children: Nellie May Howland Meigs (1880-1957), Maude E. Howland, and Florence Howland Abbott (1889-1923).
He died on 18 April 1920 in Middletown, Connecticut. He is buried at Fair Haven Union Cemetery in New Haven, Connecticut.
