BiographyFlorence Howland was born on 14 January 1889 in New Haven, Connecticut. She was the daughter of James Elwood Howland (1852-1920) and Mary Louise Jacobs (1855-1929). She had at least two siblings: Nellie May Howland Meigs (1880-1957) and Maude E. Howland. She married Mortimer Mansfield Abbott (1887-1952). Florence died on 18 March 1923 in New Haven, Connecticut.
