BiographyWalter Dart Camp was born on 25 December 1883 in Hartford, Connecticut. He was the son of Albert Birge Camp (1850-1926) and Ora Dart (1859-1939). He had five siblings: Eva Adeal Camp (1885-1921), Hattie Camp Rathbun Crane (1888-1965), Daniel W. Camp (1890-1964), Emily Amelia Camp MacGregor (1892-1978), and Bertha Camp Newton (1901-1976).

Walter graduated from Hartford Public High School in 1903.

He married Gertrude Carroll, and they had at least one daughter, Ruth F. Camp.

Walter worked at the Royal Typewriter Company for 29 years. At the time of his death he was assistant supervisor of conversion to war work. During his career he also headed the experimental and drafting departments.

He died on 25 September 1942 in Hartford, Connecticut.
