Lucy Compton Street

BiographyLucy Compton Street was born in Nebraska in 1859 or 1860. Her parents were Anthony W. Street and Mary E[liza Smith?]. She was their only child.
The family resided in Council Bluffs, Iowa for many years. During part of that time Lucy attended Vassar College in Poughkeepsie, New York. She was a member of the class of 1883.
After marrying Wells Wadsworth Cheney (1857-1938) in 1887, Lucy moved to Manchester, Connecticut. (Note: Records indicate that Lucy and Wells were married on April 19, 1887 in Florida.) They had one son, George Wells Cheney (1888-1965).
Lucy and Wells moved to Florida around 1920. She died in Daytona, Florida on November 20, 1942.
