BiographyRobert J. Maher attended Bulkeley High School and earned a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from the University of New Haven. He served in the Army National Guard. Maher then worked at the Hartford Police Department (HPD) for 26 years. While at the Hartford Police Department he became a Captain and assisted in creating the mounted police unit. After retiring from the HPD, he served as a medical fraud investigator for 20 years at Aetna.
