The Hartford Charter Oaks were a professional minor league football team based in Hartford, Connecticut. They were founded in 1964 as a member of the Atlantic Coast Football League replacing the Ansonia Black Knights (1962-1964), a minor league team. In 1965, the Charter Oaks joined the Continental Football League. The team ceased operations in 1968 due to financial difficulty. The Hartford Knights was then established to replace the Charter Oaks in the Atlantic Coast Football League.
