Henry C. Dwight Sr.

BiographyHenry C. Dwight, Sr. (19 January 1841 - 2 May 1918) was born in Northampton, Massachusetts.
He served as a private in the Civil War with the 27th Massachusetts Regiment. Three months after his enlistment he was made a second lieutenant, then a few months later he was made a first lieutenent. He was made captain of Company A after the Burnside Campaign.
In 1890, Captain Dwight was elected mayor of Hartford, Connecticut.
In 1865, Captain Dwight married Annie Maria Wright. They had at least three children: William B. Dwight; Henry C. Dwight, Jr.; and Grace (Dwight) Morgan.
