BiographyEdward Amory Cheney (1918-1971) was born in Manchester, Connecticut in 1918. He was the son of of Sara Otis Amory and Frank Dexter Cheney, Sr. He had four siblings: Frank Dexter Cheney Jr. (1905-1991); Rosalie Amory Cheney Fiske (1906-1999); Amory Cheney Marshall (1909-1999); and Hope Amory Cheney Talcott (1913-1940).
He was a graduate of Deerfield Academy and attended the University of Virginia before joining the U.S. Army during World War II.
He was the vice president of loans for branch administration at the Hartford National Bank and Trust Company.
He married Margaret Stedman. They had four children: Edward D. Cheney, Amory S. Cheney, Dexter W. Cheney, and Sara Cheney.
