Gilbert E. Norton

BiographyGilbert E. Norton (9 May 1852 - 1 January 1926) was the son of Gad (1815-1898) and Mary W. Norton (1817-1905). He had four siblings: Marshall P. (1842-1914), Asher (1843-1844), Alice Jeanette (1845-1911), and Julius Gad (1847-1871).
He married Nellie Louise Scattergood (1869-1920). They had three children: Percy Lamont (1893-1952), Julian Harwood (1895-1975), and Irving Wiard Norton (1900-1960).
His father was one of the original owners of Lake Compounce in Bristol, Connecticut. Gilbert ran the Norton family farm rather than running Lake Compounce with his brother Marshall.
