Gad Norton

Gad Norton (24 October 1815 - 4 May 1898) was one of the original owners and developers of Lake Compounce in Bristol, Connecticut.

He was the son of Parish L. (1786-1838) and Betsey Rice Norton (1785-1854). He had six siblings: Josiah (d. 1826), Andrew (1813-1897), Lucinda (b. 1817), Levi (b. 1819), and Hiram Norton (b. 1826).

He married Mary Ann Wiard (1817-1905). They had five children: Marshall P. (1842-1914), Asher (1843-1844), Alice Jeanette (1845-1911), Julius Gad (1847-1871), and Gilbert E. Norton (1852-1926).
