Irving Hugh Norton

BiographyIrving Hugh "Bud" Irving (29 June 1923 - 5 October 2008) was the son of Irving W. (1900-1960) and Mina S. Norton (1898-1988). He had one sibling, Richard L. Norton (1928-1991).
He graduated from Wilbraham Academy Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, New York. In 1943, he joined the U.S. Army Air Corp and became a pilot during World War II. After the war, he returned to Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and graduated in 1949.
In 1949, he married Rosamond Hall (1925-2014). Irving and Rosamond raised their family in Harwinton, Connecticut. They had three children: Jessie Norton-Lazenby, Jennifer Norton-Squires, and Thomas P. Norton. The Norton family was an original owner of Lake Compounce in Bristol, Connecticut, which was founded in 1846. Bud served as a Director and part owner of Lake Compounce until it was sold in 1980.
