BiographyReverend George F. Lukaczyk (1926-2001) was pastor at St. Michael the Archangel Ukrainian Catholic Church in Terryville, Connecticut. He studied at St. Basil College and completed his philosophy and theology at the Holy Ghost Fathers Seminary in Norwalk. Known as Francis in religious life, he was ordained in 1954 and served in Nativity of the BVM Parish, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, as a member of the Franciscan community there. In 1978, he joined the Ukrainian Eparchy of Stamford and served in St. Mary Church, Willimantic; St. John the Baptist, Syracuse, New York, and St. Nicholas, Elmira Heights, New York. In 1991, he was named pastor of St. Michael Parish in Terryville, where he remained until his retirement in December of 1999. He was a member of the Terryville Knights of Columbus Leo XIII Council 1090 3rd Degree and the Monsignor John Neale Assembly 4th Degree.
