Kannah Zealey
Liberian
BiographyKannah Zealey is a skilled designer and tailor of clothes for women and men, in typical West African styles. He trained a beginning tailor from the large Rhode Island Liberian community as part of the Southern New England Traditional Arts Apprenticeship program in 2008-2009. Both of the artists carried significant disabilities suffered during the war years in Liberia, and they had met before in a refugee camp in Sierra Leone. They enjoyed connecting again and working together, and presented their work at an exhibit and marketplace of CCHAP’s Sewing Circle Project.
