John B. Larson

John B. Larson was born on 22 July 1948 in Hartford, Connecticut. He was raised in the federal housing project of Mayberry Village in East Hartford. He graduated from Central Connecticut State University in 1971.

Larson was a member of the East Hartford Board of Education, 1977-1979; a member of the East Hartford Town Council, 1979-1983; member of the Connecticut State Senate, 1986-1998, president pro tempore, 1990-1998; and was elected as a Democrat to the 106th and to the twelve succeeding Congresses (January 3, 1999-present).
