BiographyFrederick Law Olmsted was born in Hartford, Connecticut. Known as the "Father of Landscape Architecture," he is most famous for his design of Central Park in New York City. He was responsible for the design of over 300 projects in Connecticut, including Beardsley and Seaside Parks in Bridgeport, Long Hill Estate in Middletown, and the grounds of the Institute of Living in Hartford.
