Ivo Pires

Ivo Pires (1942-2009) was an influential Cape Verdean violinist and cavaquinho player who also crafted musical instruments. Born in Cape Verde, he lived in Brockton, Massachusetts where he played with many musicians and was held in very high esteem. He only recorded one album, Tradicaõ, which is not on a label and was produced after his death in 2011; it is rare.
