Anna Soares

BiographyAnna Soares (1916-2001) was born in New Bedford, Massachusetts to Pedro and Laura Piedade Soares who emigrated from São Nicolau, Cabo Verde. Her family settled in Bridgeport, Connecticut in 1928. She later married Antonio Jose Soares from São Nicolau and they had 16 children. The Soares family was one of the largest Cape Verdean families in the area.
