BiographyCandida Rose Baptista is a New Bedford-based Cape Verdean singer and performer. In addition to performing around New England, she has developed a rich multi-media presentation “Musical Legacy: Exploring the Cabo Verde - New Bedford Musical Connection” highlighting the history, background, and contemporary expressions of Cape Verdean music. This project has been featured at the New Bedford Whaling Museum, the New Bedford Fishing Heritage Center, and the Zeiterion theatre. Her first album is “KabuMerikana: The Sum of Me.” Candida Rose appeared at the Norwich Cape Verdean Festival in 2019.
