BiographyBenjamin Adams was a shipbuilder in Wethersfield, Connecticut. Born in Wethersfield, Connecticut on 1 December 1735, he was the son of Amasa and Hannah Camp Adams. He married Patience Blin, daughter of William and Thankful Nott Blin of Wetherfield, Connecticut, on 5 February 1761. Benjamin Admas was a carpenter, builder, and during later life engaged in the milling business. He was active in all town affairs and resided for half a century at his home on South Lane in Wethersfield, Connecticut, where he died on 27 November 1816. Benjamin Adams had eight children, one of whom, Lucinda (17630-1828) married Thomas Havens from which line the portrait perhaps descends.
