Sridevi Thirumalai
BiographySridevi Thirumalai, a South Indian Bharata Natyam dancer and educator, founded the Natyamani School of Dance in Boston, teaching students and choreographing performances. She mentored student Srinidhi Nambirajan in Bharata Natyam dance. The 15 year old apprentice performed a story piece from the Ramayanam epic, requiring strong expressive qualities as well as dance technique, supported by her mother as singer and a group of excellent musicians led by the master teacher. Srinidhi collaborated with CT Tamil Sangam on the event, raising $3500 for education in South India.
